NET-ROL Kick-off Meeting: A Strong Start!

The NET-ROL consortium is officially in motion! Researchers from universities and institutions across Europe gathered for our Kick-off Meeting, laying the groundwork for an ambitious research effort to explore how networks shape the rule of law.

Hosted by Leiden University, the meeting brought together our incredible international team, including:

🇳🇱 Leiden University (Coordinator)
🇦🇹 Central European University
🇩🇪 University of Hamburg
🇮🇹 University of Trento
🇨🇿 Masaryk University
🇫🇷 University of Rennes
🇲🇰 European Policy Institute
🇵🇱 Institute of Public Affairs (IPA)

🔍 We focused on key elements essential for the project's success—from data management to communication strategies and the conceptual framework guiding our analyses. These discussions set a strong basis for our work and ensured that we move forward with a shared vision and clear objectives.

⚖️ Why does this matter?
Across Europe, the rule of law is being tested. From shifts in governance to challenges in judicial independence, understanding the forces that shape institutions has never been more important. By analyzing how political, business, and civic networks influence the rule of law, we aim to provide data-driven insights that strengthen democracy, transparency, and economic stability.

🗞️ What’s next?
With our team fully engaged, research is already underway. Expect updates, expert insights, and first findings in the coming months. Stay with us as we explore what really drives the rule of law—and how it can be protected.
